A carpet of Snowdrops - The original painting was inspired by a walk through the grounds of Welford Park, home of the Great British Bake Off.
My Mum adores snowdrops and each year we attempt and not always succeed, to visit this beautiful country estate on one of their open days, during snowdrop season.
This year, the sky was blue and the sun was out and as we walked through the Beech woods we were surrounded by a carpet of Snowdrops.
Through a process of many layers, I have used the technique of pulling the layers forward with lighter opaque paints and pushing them back with a dark translucent glaze, before repeating the process again and again.

This greeting card of my artwork has been produced by ‘Love from the artist’ or LFTA which is a fair trade organisation. The cards are produced on 300gsm Invercote material which is a fantastic base material for cards and also a carefully sourced product with extremely good heritage and environmental credentials.
