A carpet of Snowdrops

An original painting inspired by a walk through the grounds of Welford Park, home of the Great British Bake Off. 
 
 My Mum adores snowdrops and each year we attempt and not always succeed, to visit this beautiful country estate on one of their open days, during snowdrop season.  
This year, the sky was blue and the sun was out and as we walked through the Beech woods we were surrounded by a carpet of Snowdrops.
 
Through a process of many layers, I have used the technique of pulling the layers forward with lighter opaque paints and pushing them back with a dark translucent glaze, before repeating the process again and again.
 
Using high quality materials, this original artwork is in a photorealistic style and painted in Acrylics on deep edge canvas.  Perfect as a feature or focal point in any room.
