Coffee, Cake and Canvases

A sociable morning, learning painting techniques with paint brushes and palette knives.

  • 45 British pounds
  • The Garden Studio, Long Dean Farm

Service Description

Join me at my beautiful studio in the hamlet of Long Dean near Castle Combe for an informal workshop of creative fun and exploration. The aim of the workshop is to learn basic techniques of applying paints using brushes and palette knives to build up layers and textures (or the illusion of textures) onto the surface of the canvas. This is an opportunity to have the freedom to experiment and explore this method of paint application without the need to create perfectly. In the two hour workshop, we will be applying these techniques to create unique paintings on a small canvas. All painting supplies and materials are included in the workshop as well refreshments. SOME PRACTICAL INFORMATION PLEASE NOTE THAT ALTHOUGH THERE IS PARKING IT IS FAIRLY LIMITED. IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE ELSE ATTENDING THE WORKSHOP AND IF PRACTICAL, THEN PLEASE CONSIDER SHARING A LIFT. THERE IS ALSO FURTHER PARKING ON THE LANE A SHORT WALK AWAY. APRONS WIL BE PROVIDED HOWEVER IT IS ADVISABLE TO WEAR OLD SHOES AND CLOTHING AS THE STUDIO IS BASED ON A FARM AND THE TRACK CAN BECOME MUDDY.
